Well you shouldn’t. Who’s running that website? And what does “world elite” even mean? Instead, listen to real people who really like Razorfrog: Yelp. Power to the people. They tell you the best place to get a slice of pizza, and an awesome sandwich, where that new secret bar is, and now they have the hot tip (that we’ve known our entire existence):

Razorfrog is the best in San Francisco. We are pleased to be honored this way, even though we knew it was only a matter of time. We don’t compromise on quality or customer service, and our customers know it, and we love our customers for not only knowing it, but sharing it.

Oh, and in case you’re curious, that hidden website? Razorfrog designed it, and it looks amazing, and we really wish we could show it to you.

Yesterday, Facebook’s new Timeline format became available for business pages. A forced transition will occur on March 30th, so business owners are encouraged to customize the new format and prepare for the switch before then.

Here at Razorfrog Web Design, we’re super excited about the new features that the Timeline format offers, but we know that there are a few issues that need to be resolved within March. We’re sending out this email to notify you of the upcoming changes, offer our services in resolving any problems, and notify you of a few limited-time promotions.

First, the most major change you’ll see is a large “Cover” image at the top of the page. If nothing else, this image needs to be designed and uploaded by March 30th to avoid problematic white space on your page. Here’s an example of before and after the transition.

Other changes include how announcements are displayed, and the ability to “pin” posts to the top of the page for 7 days. Custom landing pages no longer are an option, but the top buttons can now be customized for promotions and giveaways.

Razorfrog Web Design is running a deal for updates to existing pages as well as the creation of new pages:

If you have an existing page, we’ll create and upload a custom Timeline “Cover” image, switch to the new Timeline format, and resolve any display issues: $85 (Normally $125)

If you need a new page, we’ll create a new page in the new Timeline format, create a custom “Cover” image, integrate the page with an existing website / RSS feed, add 250+ “filler fans”, and claim a custom URL: $250 (Normally $350)

Get in touch via email or phone if interested. This special will only be available through March 30th.

Here at Razorfrog, we’re always trying to make things easier for our customers. One of the most common complaints we receive is the tiring process of receiving a quote via PDF and having to print it out, sign it, and mail/fax/scan it back to us. No more! We’re happy to announce that we’re now using QuoteRoller, an online proposal system to remove all paper from the process.

Once you receive a proposal from us, you’ll review it online, submit any changes or comments, and digitally sign the contract in your browser. We’ll receive a copy on our end, and we’ll be ready to start the project that much sooner.

Stay tuned for a further review once we’ve used the system for a few months.

Who doesn’t love numbers?

The total count? A whopping 52 installs! That’s about 80% of our total sites! How do we manage all of those? Good question. We’ve just started using ManageWP, a great tool if you happen to have a few installs to look over.

Back to Wordcamp, here’s a few of the highlights and what you can expect from Razorfrog Web Design in the near future:

Scaling, Servers, and Deploys by Mark Jaquith: A wonderfully detailed chat about things far more technical than any of our customers will ever be involved with. A few behind-the-scenes changes will be made to make all of our hosted sites faster, stronger, and safer. Slides

Ian Stewart’s presentation on Post Formats. This means custom designs based specifically on the content of posts (Video, Audio, Images, etc). A few of our sites are already using these, but expect more to come.

Sara Cannon’s talk on Responsive Web Design. Great presentation, amazing examples, and far too inspiring. While we can’t feasibly go back and re-code all of our existing sites, it’s tempting! Responsive design is a site that can scale to multiple screen sizes (monitors, tablets, mobile devices). Expect to see some new designs shortly. Slides

CSS Pseudo Elements for Fun and Profit! by Chris Coyier. The most fun presentation, this one covered advanced CSS styling and some pretty sneaky things that can be done with it.

Top 5 Ways to Break Your Blog by Hanni Ross. This one was quite fun, well designed and had an incredible amount of references to Hugh Grant. Can’t go wrong there!

SEO for WordPress in 2011 by Sujan Patel. Some updated SEO tricks and tips to help our clients’ sites be found! Slides

Matt Mullenweg’s State of the Word 2011. Not to be missed for WordPress, tech, design, and jazz enthusiasts. Video

Overall, it was a incredibly informative weekend which will help guide Razorfrog through the next year. Not using WordPress yet? Contact us!
