California Historical Radio Society (CHRS) had a site that was cluttered, hard to navigate, and full of duplicate information. Razorfrog gave them a well organized, beautifully designed website with integrated social media and an easy-to-update backend. Razorfrog also redesigned their logo to reflect their merger with the Bay Area Radio Museum.

Razorfrog Loves WordPress

After spending the last three days at Wordcamp San Francisco, we decided to take count of all of our WordPress sites to create some statistic magic. Who doesn’t love numbers?

The total count? A whopping 52 installs! That’s about 80% of our total sites! How do we manage all of those? Good question. We’ve just started using ManageWP, a great tool if you happen to have a few installs to look over.

Back to Wordcamp, here’s a few of the highlights and what you can expect from Razorfrog Web Design in the near future:

Scaling, Servers, and Deploys by Mark Jaquith: A wonderfully detailed chat about things far more technical than any of our customers will ever be involved with. A few behind-the-scenes changes will be made to make all of our hosted sites faster, stronger, and safer. Slides
Ian Stewart’s presentation on Post Formats. This means custom designs based specifically on the content of posts (Video, Audio, Images, etc). A few of our sites are already using these, but expect more to come.
Sara Cannon’s talk on Responsive Web Design. Great presentation, amazing examples, and far too inspiring. While we can’t feasibly go back and re-code all of our existing sites, it’s tempting! Responsive design is a site that can scale to multiple screen sizes (monitors, tablets, mobile devices). Expect to see some new designs shortly. Slides
CSS Pseudo Elements for Fun and Profit! by Chris Coyier. The most fun presentation, this one covered advanced CSS styling and some pretty sneaky things that can be done with it.
Top 5 Ways to Break Your Blog by Hanni Ross. This one was quite fun, well designed and had an incredible amount of references to Hugh Grant. Can’t go wrong there!
SEO for WordPress in 2011 by Sujan Patel. Some updated SEO tricks and tips to help our clients’ sites be found! Slides
Matt Mullenweg’s State of the Word 2011. Not to be missed for WordPress, tech, design, and jazz enthusiasts. Video
